Lumines is a series of games developed by Q Entertainment and Enhance that is best known for its mix of music and block-dropping puzzle gameplay. The series debuted on the Playstation Portable in 2006 and the most recent game (a remaster of the original) was released in June 2018 for PS4, XB1, NSW and Steam.
Gameplay[]
Lumines is a block-dropping game where the player drops sets of 2x2 Blocks containing Blocks of two different colors, to create 2x2 Squares of the same color on the playing field. The Squares are then erased by the sweeping Timeline, and its speed depends on the BPM of the current song. The game's mechanics are tied heavily to the music played over the game. As the player progresses through the game, the game transitions between different Skins that affect the visuals and music. Lumines was also heavily inspired by Tetris.
